Dear Loudovica,
These are 3 alternatives layouts for the small room next to the kitchen.
The problem with what we had originally discussed is that the floor line is restrictive and the fridge has to come very much to the right making the dishwasher also move to the right and then the sink is very small. Also the fridge will have to be pulled out towards the trap to the basement making the room feel quite small. This is alternative 1.

In alternative 2 (that makes the most sense to me) we move the fridge to where we had originally said we would put the washing machine. Then we put the washing machine where the fridge was and because the washing machine is narrow (45 cm deep instead of 60 like fridge) we can put it close to the wall gaining a little space for the sink. This way you also get a big worktop all across the wall and a set of good hanging cupboards above the counter. The only issue about this option is that the fridge will cover a little (10 cm) of the window opening. This will NOT stop the window from working.

In alternative 3 the fridge remains where it is but the dishwasher goes under the washing machine. This is possible and will allow for a larger sink and a cupboard under the sink too. The downside is the fact that you will have to rinse plates on one side of the room and carry them to the other to put in dishwasher, and also that the washing machine is above the dishwasher and there might be a plumbing (draining) issue if both machines operate at the same time.Let me know what you prefer.I will be away in Athens for the next 3 days (national holiday tomorrow) and back in the office on Monday.Best wishes, Eleni

mattresses

hi!
If you go to http://www.coco-mat.com/web/en/ and download the Pdf catalogue then look at the following:
pages 1, 72-73, 81, 165 there are examples of the mattresses  that are sown altogether which means that there is no detachable cover to wash. The fabrics they stock are very beautiful and are also washable on the spot with foam detergents etc.
Alternatively you can go to page 48-49 and see the mattress there that you can have covers made for. These are also made to ordered sizes.
I have asked them to provide a quotation for all the possibilities and we will go from there.
For your reference the sizes are:

2,00*0.75
0,80*0.75
1,35*1,55
0,65*1,55

proposal for front room

Here is the sofa as it has now been lowered. As you can see there is a back wall that deals with damp that we cannot get rid of. This has reduced the width of the sofa. Now you will be able to sit on it but not to sleep on it. We're going to make a lid out of wood for it. We can either go the whole lenght with the width as it is (like the original but not as wide) or we can do what is proposed in the sketch where we leave at the end a small table but we build the rest wide enough for a bed. This will leave a good 2 meters that is fine for a single bed. We cannot go wide all the way because the door will not open. Let me know what you think.

matresses for beds

The thing about Mariolina's bed is that to start with it is a standard size of bed. So you have two mattresses, each of which is a single bed size (90x200). From Ikea you can only get standard sizes. The idea of this bed is that you have one mattress that covers the whole bed when closed(approx 135x155) and an extra mattress bit that is added at the foot and is 65x155. The final bed will be 200x155. This bit of mattress will be normally used as the back piece, standing vertically against the wall, behind all the pillows in the sketch. When you make the bed you take that bit and put it on the extension. Do you think you could get this kind of mattress - this is cotton and if you choose a nice fabrik it is very nice.
I will send you the exact dimensions when we have finished with Daniel in the room, and can measure with relative accuracy.

possible tiles

Following yesterday's conversation we measured the tiles that we have and there are enough to put on the floor of the living room providing we don't need any for the kitchen and that under the bed sofa we are building we use a similar tile like this one since it is not going to be visible. This is the easiest and quickest way. If you decide at a leater time to change all the floor we rediscuss the marathon option and any other that might be of interest. The cost is 29 euros/sq. meter plus shipping. We only need about 2 sq. meters

These tiles are not exactlly the same but have the right dimension (25x25 cm) and are approximatelly right in colour.

the plan for the oven cupboard

kitchen 2

proposal for oven placement

the idea is that we create more storage where you already have it and do not touch the existing sitting area.

The style of the cupboards is the same as the rest of the kitchen and also teh annex storage room.
Please note that: in order to build this cupboard we need the oven. We can plan it do all the preparation like bringing the electrictity etc. - but will need the actual oven to complete it. Please also send us all the details and documentation that acompanies the oven including possible installation manuals etc. I have here sketched an oven that is for above the counter - the main difference to under counter ones is that they do not have knobs to control hobs. I assume that this is the kind you have bought.
